We’re now just a matter of weeks away from the return of Sherlock on New Year’s Day on BBC One but something rather exciting is happening at the end of the run!
But true to form, the fourth series of the hit programme is a rather short run, just three episodes. But this evening in London it was announced that episode three, Sherlock: The Final Problem will screen in cinemas across UK and Ireland for one night on Sunday, January 15th, 2017 at 9pm.
Could the title suggest that this is the final ever episode of Sherlock? Only time will tell.
Fans will be able to celebrate the dramatic conclusion of the fourth series of the highly acclaimed BBC drama, which stars Emmy Award® winners Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in their iconic roles as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson.
Audiences will experience laughter, shocks and surprises in this thrilling, not-to-miss finale episode, which will also feature exclusive content only being shown in cinemas.
Sherlock producer Sue Vertue says:
“Fans clearly enjoyed the opportunity of watching The Abominable Bride in Cinemas last time so Hartswood Films are thrilled to be working with BBC Worldwide again to do the same for this Series 4 finale.”
Mat Way, BBC Worldwide, Commercial Director, Live Entertainment added:
“The incredible filmic qualities of Sherlock make it perfect cinema viewing. We are delighted to be able to offer the UK and Irish fans the opportunity to enjoy the epic Sherlock finale on the big screen.”
Sherlock: The Final Problem will feature Dolby Atmos in selected cinemas.
