Anna secretly hires a private investigator to track down her mum in EastEnders

But when George and Gina find out, will she call off the search?

When Linda reveals that there is £200 missing from The Vic takings, the Knights are quick to question a disgruntled Gina.

Driven by her suspicions, Gina later discovers that Anna stole the cash to hire a private investigator to track down their mum.

Horrified, Gina goes to reveal all to George, but she falters before Anna lies that she left the cash on the side whilst cashing up the night before and someone must have taken it.

Once alone, Gina gives Anna an ultimatum that it’s her or her mum. But after a heart-to-heart with Bobby and Freddie, Anna decides to go through with her decision to look for her mum.

Meanwhile, as Jay attempts to enjoy a quiet drink in The Albert he's later joined by Gina who is struggling with her sister's recent revelation and rapidly drinks and implores Jay to look after Lexi in the wake of Lola’s death, echoing her own experience growing up without a mum.

As the drinks continue to flow, Jay gets the wrong end of the stick when Gina places her hand on his leg and makes a hasty exit.

Later, Gina heads to buy drugs from the dealer she met in Peggy’s a few weeks back, but the sale is intercepted by Ravi outside Walford East who suggests that she buy from him instead.

As the tension rises between her and Gina, Anna secretly meets with a private investigator to share information about their mum’s disappearance.

Sensing friction between his daughters, George traps Anna in her lie about the stolen money which forces Anna to reveal the true reason behind the missing £200.

After imploring Anna to call off the search for fear she will get hurt, George heads to the Boxing Den to find Gina letting off steam on the punching bag.

Later, a guilty Anna decides to call off the search for her mum, but her private detective calls and reveals he’s had a positive lead in his search.

Meanwhile, Elaine hatches a plan to get Gina and Anna to step up for their dad by offering £50 to the winner who gives out the most promotional flyers in an attempt to steal customers from The Albert for the Women’s World Cup.

Whilst dropping off leaflets at the car lot, Gina and Jay have a heart-to-heart as Gina gives advice on parenting Lexi by sharing her own experience growing up without a mum. The pair put their awkward encounter from the night before behind them, but Gina is later rattled when Anna brings up their mum again.

When Bobby decides to tell Anna the truth about Lucy’s death, she reveals that she is already aware of Bobby’s involvement.

Later, Anna accosts Gina and agrees to stop her search into their mum if Gina will agree to give up the drugs for good.
