The drama is based on Bella Mackie’s bestselling novel and was announced at this year's Edinburgh Television Festival.
Anya Taylor-Joy is about to teach the world How to Kill Your Family, or she’ll at least reveal some murderous tips and tricks as Grace Bernard, in the new Netflix thriller inspired by Bella Mackie’s 2021 novel and written by Extraordinary creator Emma Moran.
The eight-episode drama follows Grace, who has a complicated family. Her dad is merciless billionaire Simon Artemis and she is the product of an affair Simon claims not to remember, which left Grace and her mom to fend for themselves.
When her mother dies and Grace is rejected by the people who should love her, she transforms her anger into something useful, killing off her estranged extended family via morbidly creative means. But will this deadly scheme take even more from Grace than she’s already lost?
Soon, Grace is clawing her way toward revenge and a hefty inheritance. But her mission pulls her away from what she really needs.
Speaking about Anya Taylor-Joy's casting, Bella Mackie said "Taylor-Joy is the most perfect fit to play Grace. I often think she understands her better than I do"

How to Kill Your Family will be produced by Sid Gentle Films Ltd. and will be executive produced by Emma Moran is an executive producer, along with Sally Woodward Gentle, Lizzie Rusbridger, and Lee Morris and Anya Taylor-Joy for LadyKiller Productions Inc. And it'll be co-executive produced by How to Kill Your Family author Bella Mackie.
