April’s tragic story is told as Marlon and Rhona find out she’s been found in Emmerdale

But does April want to come home?

 1-7 FEBRUARY

Reminding an emotional Marlon of the impact he’s having on his family, Ross encourages him to open up as to why he has a black eye. And Marlon recounts how he got tricked into giving away his money and got his black eye,.

Noting his concern for Marlon’s mental and physical state, Ross reminds Marlon that he needs to keep sight of his family at home, but it’s unclear if he’ll heed the advice to rest.

Returning, a shocked Rhona is cautiously relieved when Ross tells her Marlon is taking a step back for a bit. However, Marlon dodges the interrogation about his eye and says he’s going out to search with Ross, pushing Rhona to her limit.

The next day, Rhona is still shut out of Marlon’s troubles. Asking him to consider taking a little more time with Leo and Ivy to unite them as a family again, Rhona sparks Marlon’s anger and his emotion overflows leaving Rhona distraught.

Encouraging Marlon to vocalise his feelings to Rhona, Paddy sympathetically compels him to talk to her sooner rather than later. Has he got through to his desperate friend?

However, the arrival of PC Swirling immediately worries Marlon and Rhona and they're left fearing the worst when he asks them to sit, before revealing that April has been found.

In a special episode the viewers will learn April’s tragic story and Marlon and Rhona are overwhelmed and struggling when Swirling brings them up to date about April.

Emmerdale continues Mondays to Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV1 with first look episodes available from 7am on ITVX
