FIRST LOOK Celebrity Race Across the World

Scott Mills, Jeff Brazier, Kelly Brook and Kola Bokinni are the latest celebs to take part in Celebrity Race Across The World.

Following the success of last year's celebrity version and four regular series, the BBC have today revealed the famous faces taking part in the second series of Celebrity Race Across the World.

The four new famous faces embarking on an epic 12,500 km race of a lifetime are: broadcaster Jeff Brazier and his son, Freddy; actor Kola Bokinni and his cousin, Mary Ellen; broadcaster Kelly Brook and her husband, Jeremy and Radio 2 host Scott Mills and his husband (then fiancé), Sam.

Their journey begins in Belém, Northern Brazil - the gateway to the Amazon - and will pass through five checkpoints across the length of South America, to reach the finish line in the Andes, Frutillar in Southern Chile.

Our familiar faces will say goodbye to lavish transport, smartphones and bank cards and instead must rely on their skills, cunning and ingenuity as well as the kindness of strangers.

Once again, joining the celebrities will be their nearest and dearest, providing a unique insight into people we thought we knew, through the eyes of those who know them best.

Speaking ahead of the new series, Studio Lambert's Chief Creative Officer, Tim Harcourt, said "After the phenomenally successful run of the first celebrity series, and more recently the fourth series of the regular series - we can’t wait to bring audiences along with us to the huge South American continent and its jaw-dropping scenery, in a race which will push our celebrities and their loved ones to their absolute limits."

To which Catherine Catton, Head of Commissioning, Factual Entertainment and Events added "We've been delighted by the success of celebrity Race Across the World, and are now incredibly excited to see some new famous faces and their loved ones take on this difficult yet highly rewarding race of a lifetime. We cannot wait to watch their journey unfold."

The six-part series is made by Studio Lambert and was commissioned by Catherine Catton, Head of Commissioning, Factual Entertainment and Events.

The BBC Commissioning Editors and executive producers for the BBC are Michael Jochnowitz and Jasmyn McGuile. Rob Fisher, Charlotte Woolley, Louise Bartmann, Emma Peach and Tim Harcourt are the executive producers with Sophie Beck as production executive for Studio Lambert.

Celebrity Race Across The World returns Wednesday 14th August at 9pm on BBC One
