FIRST LOOK The Four Seasons

Steve Carrell and Tina Fey reunite for Netflix's new comedy!

Today, Netflix has released a first look at The Four Seasons, their new comedy adaptation of Alan Alda’s 1981 big-screen romantic comedy of the same name which followed three couples who vacation together every season, but whose worlds are upended when one of them gets divorced.

The eight-part series will follow six old friends as they head for a relaxing weekend away only to learn that one couple in the group is about to split up.

The three couples, Kate and Jack, played by Tina Fey and Will Forte, Nick and Anne, played by Steve Carell and Kerri Kenney and Danny and Claude, played by Colman Domingo and Marco Calvani, are completely upended by the news.

Over the course of a year, we follow the friends on four vacations, and watch how this shake-up affects everyone’s dynamic, sending old issues and new bubbling to the surface.

The Four Seasons promises to be a hilarious and heartfelt love letter to long marriages and old friendships

Written by Tina Fey and fellow 30 Rock writer-producers Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield, The Four Seasons will be produced by Alan Alda and Marissa Bergman, executive produced by Fey, Fisher, Wigfield, David Miner, Eric Gurian, and Jeff Richmond and made by Universal Studios and Little Stranger, Inc.

Speaking about The Four Seasons, Tina Fey said "Tracey, Lang, and I have talked about the show being a love letter to long-term relationships, both platonic and romantic, because your life is ideally more than just the person you’re married to."

"Sometimes when you are struggling with something with just your spouse, you need a group of friends to bring humor to it. Those friendships really help marriages, I think. Having a person who just fulfills a part of you that your spouse can’t quite [fulfill] is very important."

The Four Seasons will air later this year on Netflix
