FIRST LOOK The Red King

Alibi have released a number of first look images from their upcoming drama The Red King.

Written by Toby Whithouse and produced by Quay Street Productions, The Red King follows Grace as she finds herself being forced into a ‘punishment posting’ on the small, antiquated island of St. Jory.

Confronted by the forgotten and unsolved case of missing teenage boy Cai, Grace quickly discovers that she must overcome scarce evidence, extraordinary local characters, and the island’s eerie past devotion to a pagan called the Red King and the cult of the True Way in order to uncover the truth.

These new images show Anjli Mohindra as smart, capable and by the book Grace Narayan, alongside Adjoa Andoh as Lady Heather Nancarrow, Marc Warren as Dr Ian Prideaux, Mark Lewis Jones as Gruffudd Prosser, Sam Swainsbury as Father Douglas Carrisford, Jill Halfpenny as Ann Fletcher and Lu Corfield as Lowri Bain.

The Red King promises to be a character-driven mystery-thriller, that combines the powerful story of a knotty police investigation with chilling, atmospheric folk-horror.

The six-part drama is executive produced by Nicola Shindler and Davina Earl for Quay Street Productions and Toby Whithouse. The series will be directed by Daniel O'Hara who is also executive producer, and produced by Guy Hescott.

The Red King will air in 2024 on Alibi
