FIRST LOOK The Tourist

The BBC has today released four first-look images from the highly anticipated second series of The Tourist starring Jamie Dornan and Danielle Macdonald.


The second series of The Tourist, promises to be full of shocking plot twists and the same off-beat comedy that made the first series a success, returning with even more quirky characters and intense action.


When the six-part thriller returns, Jamie Dornan will resume his role as Elliot Stanley, a man looking to rediscover his true identity following his memory loss, alongside Danielle Macdonald, as former police officer Helen Chambers, following their adventure in the Australian Outback.


Set against the striking backdrop of Ireland, the pair are confronted by friends and foes as they attempt to uncover the secrets of Elliot’s past.


As Elliot and Helen are dragged into a longstanding family feud, series two introduces a raft of new characters including Detective Ruairi Slater, played by Conor MacNeill, Niamh Cassidy, played by Olwen Fouéré, and the McDonnell family, Donal played by Diarmaid Murtagh, Orla played by Nessa Matthews, Fergal played by Mark McKenna and Frank played by Francis Magee.


Created by Jack and Harry Williams, the second series of The Tourist is produced by Two Brothers Pictures, with the first block directed by Fergus O’Brien with Johann Perry as DOP and Lisa Mulcahy and Kate Dolan directing blocks two and three respectively.
