Karl struggles to connect with Holly after feeling like a failed parent in Neighbours

Can they mend their relationship?

 26 OCTOBER - 1 NOVEMBER

With Holly emotionally drained from her psychological assessment, Susan and Karl are prompted to worry privately about what will happen if she’s given a custodial sentence.

Meanwhile, Karl is surprised at the unexpected closeness between Felix and Holly at the Tram, where Felix thoughtfully gives Holly perspecIve on her court worries.

Later, Karl finds Holly engrossed in her psychological assessment report, which labels her a traumatised individual as a result of a troubled childhood. After reading the report himself, Karl is beyond frustrated that it makes it seem as though Holly’s grown up without any parental love or support.

When Susan asks Holly if she wants to talk through the confronIng report, she disengages, impacted by the report's incisive summary of her life.

Later that night, Holly steals out of the house, which worries Karl deeply. Knowing that the psych assessment has hit Holly hard, Karl is determined to go and find her.

Worried, he finds himself at the Tram, pulling up abruptly when he finds Holly curled up with Felix, both asleep. As he slams the door, Felix and Holly startle awake. What the hell is going on?

When Holly reveals she was at the tram with Felix because he was helping her deal with panic attacks and the shock of her psychological exam report, Karl is shocked.

Realising Holly was struggling and chose not to turn to him, Karl feels like a failed parent.

When Karl offers Felix an apology, Holly’s not assuaged. But when Paul grudgingly admires his parenting, Karl is somewhat buoyed.

When Holly arrives home, she finds Karl ready to be there for her and rushes into his arms, telling him the report didn't outline all the great things she loves about him and her mum.
