Lauren calls it a day with Max as her trial begins in Corrie

Could she be about to spend 20 years in prison?

11-17 JANUARY

Visiting Lauren, Max finds her panicking about her trial and does his best to be positive, but Lauren can see straight through his platitudes.

Stealing herself, Lauren tells him that it’s best they call it a day as he’s got his whole life ahead of him while she’s looking at a 20 year stretch, leaving Max devastated.

As her trial begins, Lauren listens to the prosecution barrister addressing the court as he describes Joel’s death to the court and paints Lauren as a liar.

As the prosecution and defence go back and forth, Lauren, Bobby and Nina watch the proceedings with mixed emotions. Having returned to the prison, Lauren’s barrister warns her that the case could go either way.

In the prison, Brie approaches Lauren and purposely winds her up by suggesting Frankie would be better off without her.

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 with first look episodes available from 7am on ITVX
