Man Like Mobeen returning for a fifth and final series on BBC Three

It's time to find out what happened after THAT series four cliffhanger.

BBC Three has today confirmed that Man Like Mobeen, the superb comedy, written and co-created by Guz Khan and Andy Milligan, will be returning for a fifth and final series and with filming underway in Coventry and Turkey, they have released two first look images.

Series four was one of BBC Three’s most watched comedies in 2023, with viewers left reeling from the cliffhanger ending and pondering the fate of haphazard Mobeen after he was attacked in prison

In an extended six-part final series, the BBC has promised an epic finale as Mobeen is back on the outside and reunited with the gang in Small Heath, before embarking on an epic adventure overseas. If Mobeen can get his hands on a plane ticket and a fake passport that is.

The new series welcomes back Guz Khan as the notorious lead character Mobeen, alongside Tolu Ogunmefun as Nate and Perry Fitzpatrick as Harper.

Also returning are Salman Akhtar as Saj, Duaa Karim as Mobeen’s younger sister Aqsa, Mark Silcox as the true OG Uncle Shady, Korkmaz Arslan as Turkish barber Emre and Hussina Raja as Mobeen’s crush Nida.

Speaking about the upcoming final series and today's news, Guz Khan said "Listen, please, this is very important to the sanctity and functionality of my life. I can’t even shop in Aldi without someone popping out from behind the bread aisle and asking me when there’s going to be more Man Like Mobeen."

"So for you, and only for you, here’s one, final, very last, never to be done again season of Man Like Mobeen. P.S Please don’t make me make any more, I got loads of kids to raise and that. Love you.”

To which the BBC's Director of Comedy, Jon Petrie, added "Man Like Mobeen has been a comedy juggernaut for BBC Three, and saying goodbye is going to be tough for everyone. But as much as we don’t want to, we’ve got to be grown-ups and accept it's the end."

"Guz Khan and Andy Milligan have crafted something truly special in these final scripts, and we're going out with a bang… even if keeping a straight face will be a challenge. It's the last series, but it’s bigger and funnier than ever.”

Produced by Tiger Aspect Comedy (part of Banijay UK), Man Like Mobeen is a co-production

with Dice Roll Productions. The fifth and final series will be directed by David Sant, produced by David Simpson and executive produced by Gill Isles and Tom Jordan.

Tiger Aspect’s Man Like Mobeen Trainee Scheme has once again created entry-level production jobs for candidates within the West Midlands, with four placements across Costume, Art, Production, and the Camera team. Alongside this, the show has also combined with both ScreenSkills and the BBC Comedy Collective to add roles on the production for a Shadow Director, a Co-Producer, and an Associate Producer.
