Marlon's appeal video brings unwanted attention as it goes viral in Emmerdale

Will April be found?

 4-10 JANUARY

In Emmerdale's Christmas day episode, viewers saw the heartbreaking moment Marlon Dingle, found that his teenage daughter April had run away.

As Marlon begins to unravel the devastating reasons his daughter chose to go missing, he begins to discover she was leading a life he was completely unaware of.

In the coming weeks, April’s family and the community of Emmerdale will try to keep their hopes of finding April alive. Whilst Marlon and Rhona, played by Zoe Henry, face every parent's worst nightmare that they may never see their daughter again.

With Rhona still upset at Marlon, Mary encourages her to make things right, and is left wondering whether Laurel might be to blame.

With Marlon determined to continue with his quest to find April, Mary takes it upon herself to have a word with Laurel at the Woolpack which leaves Marlon furious.

At the cafe, Marlon makes his anger known to Mary for confronting Laurel and later he's convinced by those close to him to film an appeal video.

The next day, Marlon’s appeal video goes viral but Mary tries to hide him from the vile hate messages that are flooding in. However, when he learns of them, Marlon considers deleting the appeal video, wishing he’d sorted proper advice before embarking on it.

Eventually, Marlon puts his foot down and decides not to delete the video and he and Rhona stand united despite the online aggression.

Emmerdale continues Mondays to Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV1 with first look episodes available from 7am on ITVX
