When the day of Maria’s Christening arrives, and with chemotherapy starting tomorrow, Mercedes is determined to make the day special.
As she basks in the tranquillity of the church before the guests arrive, Mercedes thanks Grace for all her help to organise the day ahead.
Apprehensive to how the chemotherapy will affect her, Mercedes hands out her Christmas presents and Freddie is taken aback by a thoughtful gift.
Later, everyone rallies around to support Mercedes while she embarks on a course of chemotherapy and in emotional scenes, she tells Grace she wouldn’t be able to face the treatment without her and Grace holds back the tears.
Soon, Freddie arrives at the hospital to take over from Grace.
