But how will Celia react to the confrontation?

28 JUNE - 4 JULY
Spotting a sheep caught in a fence on Celia’s farm, Paddy rushes off to intervene, but after freeing the sheep, he freezes in terror when an aggressive dog approaches. The dog attacks Paddy and Bear manages to save him, but it's clear that Paddy is grievously injured.
Arriving at the hospital, Mandy tries to comfort a traumatised Bear as they wait for Paddy to emerge from surgery. When he does, Paddy’s beyond grateful to his dad for saving his life.
However Mandy’s shocked and appalled when Bear turns Paddy’s life-threatening attack into an opportunity to assassinate his son’s character. After Mandy hustles Bear out of the room, it’s apparent that Bear’s words have resonated with Paddy and Mandy does her best to raise Paddy’s spirits, but it's clear that a now silently sobbing Paddy has taken his dad’s harsh words to heart.
When he returns home, Paddy’s even more despondent about himself and a visit from Marlon can’t raise his spirits on his unhappy birthday.
After his friend leaves, Paddy grimly retrieves the vets’ bolt gun from the cabinet and heads out with an air of determination. It doesn’t go well for Paddy when he tries to take Bear’s advice and heads to Celia’s farm to confront her.

Returning, Paddy blames Bear for his disastrous encounter with Celia and lets loose all his frustration with his father’s treatment of him. After Paddy tells Bear to move out, it seems like the void between the two men is now irreconcilable.
Marlon arranges an intervention in the form of a lads day playing ‘Oh God They’re Zombies’, however when Paddy fails to help him save the world from a zombie apocalypse, Marlon gets real with his friend.
Emmerdale continues Mondays to Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV1 with first look episodes available from 7am on ITVX
