Paul agrees to cover for Terese after her drinking causes a dangerous gas leak in Neighbours

But who has ended up in hospital as a result of her actions?

 26 OCTOBER - 1 NOVEMBER

Returning home from her secret multi-day bender, Terese us shocked by the sight of her newly landscaped and very bare front garden, and shocked again to discover the landscaper followed her email instructions, which she sent while drunk, to the tee.

Eager to cover, Terese dismisses Susan’s concerns, instead claiming that she is fine with the landscaping work. However, the lie only grows when later Terese claims she not only loves the garden’s new look, but had such a great time away with Piper and Tyler, even helping them out with a renovation.

When Leo informs Paul of Terese’s getaway and her odd change of heart with regard to the garden, Paul’s left concerned.

Despite her overwhelming desire to spend the night drinking, Terese agrees to let Nell stay the night at hers, after dinner with JJ and his family.

While she puts on a well and happy front for Nell, Paul sees her façade crack from a distance and is concerned, even more so when Nell asks him if Terese has seemed OK to him.

Once Terese has sent Nell off to dinner, she’s about to open a new bottle of wine and with immense effort stashes the bottle away, battling her demons. When Paul tries to check in with Piper, Aaron reveals she’s been in Hawaii.

As the realisation crashes over Paul that Terese was never in Adelaide. Nell arrives home tired, and goes to bed after telling Terese how proud she is of her. However, it’s all too much for

her and she grabs her bottle of wine to drink in the privacy of her room, hating herself.

When Terese lies to him about the visit to Adelaide, Paul is worried and Karl and Susan are troubled when Terese fails to turn up to the woodworking class. When she eventually arrives, hungover, Terese snaps at Susan’s insinuation that she's dropping the ball.

Besieged by problems at the woodworking session, Terese blows up and lets out her rage. When Paul confronts her about lying, she cuttingly tells him he wasn't there when she needed him and she’ll never need him again.

It’s enough to make Terese reach for the drink, and later that night when she leaves Eirini Rising, she unknowingly damages a gas pipe. When pandemonium breaks loose, Gino works to save residents from danger, whislt Susan has no luck in informing Terese, not knowing

it’s because she's passed out drunk.

A frantic Susan and Karl watch on as ahypoxic resident is rushed to hospital. In a bid to locate Terese, Susan reaches out to Paul who’s equally baffled by her absence.

Acting on a hunch, and on Terese’s recent odd behaviour, Paul seeks her out at her home and his worst fears are proven right when she answers the door in a drunken state, mortified to discover what happened at Eirini.

After arriving at the hospital, Terese lies to Karl and Susan about her absence, blaming a strong sleeping pill.

Later, Terese discovers a car crashed into the gas meter at Eirini Rising and is determined to find out who did it.

When Paul brings Terese back home, they both discover that her tail light is smashed. Whilst Terese has no idea how it happened, Paul has a horrifying inkling that she was the one who smashed into the gas meter.

As Paul realises the extent of her drinking, Terese panics. When he offers to help cover up what she did, she's more than willing to go along with it.
