Will Paul’s next move be one betrayal too many for Terese?

31 MAY - 6 JUNE
Terese receives a letter from Jefferey, informing her that he is the real father of baby Thomas and altered the DNA test results, knowing he’d be able to blackmail Chelsea who would do anything to make sure Paul believed he was the baby daddy.
Paul is reeling and devastated as this means he’s losing Thomas, the ‘son’ he’s grown to love so much. But there’s also an element of relief that Jeffrey has not revealed Paul was already in on the secret and has been playing along with the subterfuge.
When Terese demands more DNA tests at a more secure lab, Chelsea knows it would delay the inevitable and tells her it’s not necessary as they will only show that Jeffrey is the father.
With the revelation confirmed, Paul’s family rally around him as he’s initially too shocked to express his grief. It’s only when Paul later holds Thomas, for possibly the last time, that he crumbles in devastation.

With Chelsea overwhelmed by what the revelations mean for her, Cara now hates her again. She’s broken Paul’s heart and gets a brutal character assassination from Krista, who has only been holding back her fury while she thought they were part of the same family.
Full of self-hatred, Chelsea abandons Thomas, convinced he’ll have a better life without a monster like her in it, leaving him at the Penthouse.
When Terese arrives home, she’s confused to find Thomas there with Paul. After searching his things, they discover a letter from Chelsea, stating she’s left Thomas in Paul’s care.
When Cara and Remi arrive looking for Chelsea, they’re appalled to discover what’s happened and Cara decides it’s best if she and Remi take Thomas back to their place.
However, Paul is firm. Chelsea’s intent was for Thomas to be with him and Cara grudgingly agrees not to disturb him at the moment and asks Paul to drop him off in the morning.
The following day, Paul reveals to his family that he has no intention of going against her wishes of handing Thomas over. But when he fails to make the drop off, he and Cara have a heated argument, leaving Terese and Remi to intervene before things boil over.
Leo warns Paul to be careful, since he’s not Thomas’s biological father he technically has no standing in his life. But Paul vows to fight on. And Terese tries to persuade him by pointing out that they need to play this smarter. If they don’t have legal rights, they’ll need to get the Varga-Murphys back on side if they don’t want to lose Thomas completely.
Paul reluctantly gives Thomas to Cara, hoping for a commitment that he can continue being a part of Thomas's life.
However, Cara is vague and catching up on the street with Andrew, suggests potentially adopting Thomas, which throws Remi.
While Paul worries about not seeing Thomas, Krista advises a concerned Terese that Paul needs to be the one to decide to let go.
They’re all stunned when Chelsea shows up, admitting she couldn’t be without Thomas. When Paul and Terese take her to see Cara and Remi, Cara and Chelsea clash over Chelsea’s behaviour and Paul and Terese bow out.
As Cara privately struggles with the idea of letting Thomas go, Remi counsels Chelsea to consider Cara and Paul’s feelings before acting.
Meanwhile, Paul floats the idea of offering Chelsea a place to live to Terese and Krista. But despite Terese advising him that it’s time for him to let go for all their sakes, Paul offers Chelsea a room at the hotel and asks her not to tell Terese he knew about Jeffrey being Thomas’ dad.
When Krista realises Chelsea’s at Lassiters, she calls Terese. Shocked and hurt, Terese tells Paul that she and Nell are moving back to Ramsay Street.
