Are the two better suited than they think?
In return for teaching Minnie how to play the drums, Maxine offers to help a smitten Beau plan an end-of-term prom for Hollyoaks High.
Later, when Beau goes over to Maxine’s flat to give her daughter a drumming lesson, as promised, she in return, shares some ideas for the school and the couple grows closer.
To distract her from the memory of her last visit with Eric, Maxine throws herself into helping Beau and Shing Lin is excited to hear about the gig they’re planning for the school. But her enthusiasm at the prospect of it is quickly shattered when Beau informs them that the headteacher doesn’t think it’s a good time for it.
And Maxine finds a way in which Beau might be able to convince the headteacher to let the school have the gig they planned.
The following day, after Beau dodged her kiss, Scott tries to cheer Maxine up, but with this and the recent scar given to her by Eric, her confidence is running low.
Whilst Maxine might have been rejected, Scott ends up with cake all over him when he confronts Beau and accidentally sticks his hand into the wedding cake! Beau admits he was concerned that his friend might not be ready for a relationship.
With the cake patched up, Scott reminds Beau of how strong Maxine is and how if he likes her as much as he says he needs to be honest with her.
