Just in time for Halloween, Channel 4 are launching their new darkly comic, outlandishly gory zombie-horror satire from Ben Wheatley, Generaton Z in which savvy teenagers take on flesh-eating baby-boomers. All with a killer cast including Sue Johnston, Anita Dobson and Lewis Gribben.
The fictional town of Dambury is the kind of place with stark opportunities and not much to do. It's the last place you'd expect the apocalypse to begin. But when an army truck crashes outside a care home and infects the residents, four teenage friends, Charliem Kelly, Finn and Steff, must deal with the deadly consequences while also coping with their family and relationship problems.
Meanwhile, Gil is sent to oversee the clean-up operation alongside army base Commander Wrollen. Billy, who's part of the clean-up, is shocked by the carnage. The virus comes to a head with the teenagers when Kelly's nan becomes infected and attacks, as Charlie and Steff arrive.

BRAND NEW DRAMA
ELLIS
Thursday 31st October at 8pm on Channel 5

Channel 5's new three-part drama Ellis stars Sharon D Clarke as DCI Ellis, a tenacious cop who’s parachuted into failing investigations. Each two-hour episode sees Ellis, accompanied by her right-hand man DS Harper, arrive at a different police station, where she’ll have to win over the local detectives and immerse herself in the cases she has come to solve.
As a black female cop, Ellis is used to being dismissed and overlooked, but she’s a first-class murder detective, with a determination for justice and a deep well of compassion for those who need it.
In the first episode, when 18-year-old Rowan Edwards is found dead, DCI Ellis is called on by ACC Alison Leighton to take over the investigation. Rowan’s girlfriend, Maggie, hasn’t been seen since Rowan’s death and they need results fast.
Rowan’s mother, an ex-MP, has doubts about the capabilities of the local force, but the current SIO is sure he has the murderer in his sights and is less than impressed to have been shunted off the case.
He assigns DS Chet Harper to keep an eye on Ellis, not trusting her at all. Ellis starts to dig under the surface of the town… and soon sees that in Hanmore, parents know nothing about the lives of their children.
