WHAT TO WATCH 28 July - 3 August

The return of Charlie and Nick, the finale of Hijack and more!

This week's best telly includes the highly anticipated return of Heartstopper, the final episode of gripping Apple TV+ drama Hijack, plus the return of Celebrity MasterChef, new drama Wolf and a special episode of Stacey Dooley's hit series on W.

Here are 5 TV shows you can't miss this week...

1. Wolf

Monday 31st July and Tuesday 1st August at 9pm on BBC One

Based on Mo Hayder’s acclaimed Jack Caffery novels, BBC One's new six-part thriller Wolf, stars Ukweli Roach as DI Jack Caffery, a young detective beset by nightmares. Obsessed with the neighbour he believes murdered his 10-year-old brother in the 90s, Jack finds himself trying to right the wrongs of others. But at what cost?

In an isolated house in Monmouthshire, the wealthy Anchor-Ferrers family find themselves the victims of a psychopath’s cruel games, trapped and terrorised. When the two narratives collide, it’s a thrilling, nail-biting and deeply disturbing race against time.

Wolf also stars Sacha Dhawan and Iwan Rheon as Honey and Molina, two mismatched professionals forced together on a job and Sian Reese-Williams as DI Lincoln, a woman with a case to prove.

Elsewhere, Juliet Stevenson and Owen Teale star as Matilda and Oliver Anchor-Ferrers who find themselves in the centre of a siege with their daughter Lucia, played by Annes Elwy.

2. Hijack

Wednesday 2nd August on Apple TV+

If like me, you've been glued to Apple TV+ every Wednesday, then you'll be all too aware that this week sees their gripping real-time drama Hijack reach its conclusion. But if you're not one of the many rightly raving about this series, there's never been a better time to get started.

Told in real-time, Hijack follows the journey of a hijacked plane as it makes its way to London over a seven-hour flight, and authorities on the ground scramble for answers.

Without giving away any spoilers, those who are up to date will have been left with one big question to answer. And with a new threat emerging on board during the season finale, Sam struggles to control the chaos unfolding around him.

As she sits and watches clips from previous episodes, Stacey reflects on her status as a new mother and wonders if it has changed her perspective on the parenting methods she witnessed first-hand. And she also explores her own approach to parenting.

Filmed in her own home, Stacey chats to her boyfriend, Kevin Clifton, about the families and parenting styles she is reviewing so that he may provide his own thoughts about them and, in addition, share his hopes for their daughter, Minnie.
