3. Welcome to Wrexham

Wednesday 13th September on Disney+

Welcome to Wrexham follows Hollywood stars, Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, who shocked the world when they decided to buy Wrexham's historic yet struggling football club Wrexham AFC in November 2020.

Rob and Ryan teamed up to purchase the 5th-tier Red Dragons in the hopes of turning the club into an underdog story the whole world could root for. The world took notice and change is afoot.

After a painful elimination in the playoffs, season two continues to track the club as they fight for promotion out of the National League and return to the English Football League. Dedicated staff and supporters hold on to the dream of returning the team and town to glory while bracing for the new-found challenges that fame has brought to their small community.

From Hollywood to Wales, from the pitch to the locker room, the front office to the pub, Welcome to Wrexham follows Rob and Ryan’s stewardship and the inextricably connected fates of a team and a town in the midst of history in the making.

4. Celebrity Race Across The World

Wednesday 13th September at 9pm on BBC One

UPDATE: Understandably, this week’s Celebrity Race Across The World launch has been postponed. The BBC have said “In light of the earthquake in Morocco we have taken the decision to postpone the first episode of Celebrity Race Across The World which was filmed in Marrakesh. We’ll update on new schedule details shortly.”

With three hit series of Race Across The World on the BBC, it was only a matter of time before a celebrity series emerged and this week four celebrities and a family member will be racing to a finish line that’s thousands of miles away, without the use of air travel or any trappings of modern-day life.

Taking part are broadcaster Alex Beresford and his dad, Noel, singer Mel Blatt and her mum, Helene, McFly drummer Harry Judd and his mum, Emma and British Racing Driver and pundit Billy Monger and his sister, Bonny.

Starting in Marrakech, Morocco, the most north-western country in Africa, and ending in Tromsø, Norway, known as the Arctic capital, the epic journey will span 24 countries and over 10,000 km.

The route will see the pairs race through every landscape and culture that this part of the world has to offer: from the great North African city of Marrakech, through the seaside ports and beaches of the Mediterranean, to unrivalled historic and cosmopolitan cities, the mighty Alps, unexplored Central Europe, the fairy-tale Baltic States, and snowy Scandinavia.

Stripped of all mod-cons and all luxuries, the celebs and their partners will have to rely on their skills, cunning, ingenuity, and hard work in order to succeed. Without the use of credit cards, smartphones or access to the internet and with just the cash equivalent of completing the route to their final destination by air, they will have to earn extra money along the way as well as call upon the kindness of strangers to help them progress.

1/6 Continues weekly

5. Wilderness

Friday 15th September on Prime Video

Based on B.E. Jones’ novel of the same name, Wilderness stars Jenna Coleman and Jackson-Cohen as British couple Liv and Will in what promises to be a twisted love story, where a dream holiday and a supposedly “happily-ever-after” quickly turns into a living nightmare.

With a rock-solid marriage, a glamorous new life in New York thousands of miles from their provincial hometown and still young enough to feel that their whole lives are ahead of them, they seem to have it all. Until Liv learns about Will’s affair and becomes the actress starring in his bad dreams.

After learning about Will's betrayal, Liv's heartbreak is swiftly followed by another emotion: fury. Revenge is her only option.

The couple embark on an American road trip Liv's fantasized about since she was little, from the Grand Canyon on through Yosemite, before ending up with a hedonistic weekend in Las Vegas. For Will, it's a chance to make amends; for Liv, it's a very different prospect, a landscape where accidents happen all the time.

The perfect place to get revenge. Look what he made her do...
