Netflix's global hit Squid Game, returns this week for its second series as we delve back into the deadly games and gripping character dynamics that fans adored the first time around.


Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the States and comes back with a new resolution in his mind.


Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won.

CALL THE MIDWIFE

For the first time ever, this year's Christmas special of Call the Midwife will be a two-part special as all the regular, well-loved characters return for a Christmas set in 1969 where the Nonnatus midwives are in their element, all busy delivering babies and doing the job they are most dedicated and committed to.


In the second part, Shelagh helps a family battle against appalling poverty, Rosalind comes face to face with an escaped convict, whilst romance is on the cards for Nancy.

THE MASKED SINGER

The Masked Singer is back for a Christmas Special and this year Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders join Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Davina McCall on the panel for the one-off special, once again hosted by Joel Dommett.


Across the episode, four well-known celebrities will compete undercover in elaborate Christmas-themed costumes to keep their true identities hidden with all four famous faces unmasked in one episode.


The characters performing on The Masked Singer Christmas special are Christmas Cracker, Nutcracker, Star and Turkey Crown.

THE FESTIVE POTTERY THROWDOWN
 

Boxing Day at 9pm on Channel 4


As The Festive Pottery Throwdown returns for a special Christmas episode as Siobhán McSweeney returns to host the ultimate battle of the clay, as novice celebrity potters Babátúndé Aléshé, Martin Kemp, Rachel Riley and Tom Rosenthal roll up their sleeves and brave the clay in a yuletide attempt to become champion.


Judges Keith Brymer Jones and Rich Miller set the celebrities two festive challenges: hand-building a Winter Wonderland and a surprise second challenge, where speed is of the essence as they take to the wheel to throw as many festive wine coolers as they can. But only one celeb can be crowned Christmas champion of the pottery.

The Brockmans are back as Outnumbered returns for a brand new Christmas special which this year follows the chaos in the downsized home of Pete and Sue Brockman, as they grapple with the challenges of parenting kids who are now adults, with their own lives to lead.


Returning for the special are Hugh Dennis as dad Pete, Claire Skinner as mum Sue, Tyger Drew-Honey as eldest son Jake, Daniel Roche as the middle child Ben, and Ramona Marquez as daughter, Karen.


In a moment of adversity, Sue and Pete gather all their offspring (including one grandchild) to try and celebrate a traditional family Christmas and share some unwelcome news with their children. But fate, neighbours, hyenas and bus replacement services get in their way.
